For larger groups it is ordinarily more convenient and cost effective to catch a taxi.
The Brisbane International Airport is approximately 100 kms north of Surfers Paradise. The Airtrain and the Pacific Motorway connect the Gold Coast to Brisbane.
Catching the Airtrain is the fastest and most affordable way to reach the Gold Coast directly from Brisbane International & Domestic airports. Trains depart (on average) every 30 minutes and offer a cool, calm 85-minute air-conditioned journey to the Gold Coast. It operates twice hourly between the hours of 5.35am and 8.02pm Monday to Friday and 6.02am until 8.02pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Once you arrive at the Gold Coast (Nerang Station) you can catch a taxi to your accommodation (another option is the Airtrain ticket with limousine transfers). Tickets can be purchased at the stations – follow the signs at the airport.
If you are driving from Brisbane a variety of detailed maps should be available at the airport and rental company you hire from. Good maps are also available at the Brisbane Airport Map Directory.
